Meet Dr. Charlotte
Committed to Kentucky
Hello! I am Dr. Charlotte Harris, and you may know me as an Orthopedic Surgeon who worked in and around Mason County for over three decades. I am deeply grateful for all the years spent caring for my neighbors, friends, and their families. Now retired, I’d like to continue my dedication and service to our community in a new role: your Kentucky Representative.
I was born on a small dairy farm in the mountains of Virginia where both my parents were life-long farmers, and my three older sisters worked as public school teachers. Raised by a supportive family who encouraged me to follow my dream of becoming a doctor, I learned to live by the values of hard work, honesty, and compassion. After finishing my training, we settled in our forever home of Maysville to start a family and two small businesses.
I am a driven individual and have always believed that if you work hard, you should be able to get ahead in life. This is why when I see other hardworking families struggling with a high cost of living and low wages, I can’t stand by and do nothing. Minimum wage has not been raised above $7.25 since 2009. That’s 17 years without a pay raise as prices continue to skyrocket. We must act now to level the playing field for all Kentuckians.
As a retired doctor, I’ve seen the stress a hospital visit can bring to a family. Suprise bills, expensive medications, and everchanging rules can put folks in impossible situations. Health insurance is expensive, and dismantling the Affordable Care Act will make it much worse. It is unacceptable that so many of my neighbors could lose health insurance and our local hospitals could close if our political parties don’t collaborate. Part of a strong community is a strong and stable healthcare system where everyone is covered. Our elected officials must work together to guarantee that all Kentuckians can afford healthcare.
I, Dr. Charlotte Harris, want to be your representative to continue my life of service and fight for this vision. I want to work with you to build a path toward a better and brighter 70th district in the great Commonwealth of Kentucky. So, I humbly ask for your support on this journey and for your vote in November.

Living Wages For All Kentuckians
I will work to:
- Bring good-paying jobs to our region
- Invest in infrastructure, including water, electric and broadband
- Expand housing options for the groups that need it most
- Raise minimum wage to a living wage
Health Care Is Personal, Not Political
I will fight to:
- Make health care accessable to all Kentuckians
- Protect patient rights
- Protect families from rising premium costs
- Support expanded Medicaid services and improve plan availability
- Ban pre-existing condition exclusions
- Keep rural hospitals open so families can get care close to home
- Protect women's health
United We Stand, Divided We Fall
We must:
- End violent and toxic political rhetoric
- Not allow algorithms and bots to tear apart the fabric of our society
- Work together for a better and brighter Kentucky
I am a moderate Democrat committed to reaching across the aisle.
